King Children X Bianca
When King Children asked me to collaborate and design glasses for them, I immediately said yes!!! I already had a pair of custom made sunglasses from them, and had sat on them multiple times (by accident of course) and they didn’t break!
I’m notorious for breaking/losing my sunglasses. I’ve never had a pair for more than a few months—if that LOL!
So I am proud to say, I’ve had my sunglasses since last September, and I’ve been wearing the prototypes of my designs since January and they have not broken which is truly a miracle for me!
I am so incredibly proud of these. My goal was to design something that I wanted to wear every day. I wanted to take the essence of who I am and put them in the form of glasses.
They are called “As You Are.”
25% of each pair will be donated towards The Breasties — a cause I care about deeply.
As You Are. Limited Edition Collaboration.
As You Are
I wrote this song for myself. It's a personification of love talking to me. Telling me that love is always here—that love is everywhere, because you, yourself are love.
As You Are extends to everything- my experience with cancer, my scars and learning to love myself, relationships, music and everything in between.
It’s about coming forth exactly as I am and accepting myself... knowing that whether or not there are others that accept me, I accept myself first and I am being honest and true to who I am.
I have finally accepted myself and allowed myself to love fully. To love and be loved without judgement.
The Breasties
I was 11 years old, when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I went through multiple surgeries and six months of chemo. I was in remission for ten years, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 22. I had a double mastectomy, reconstruction and went through a year of cancer treatment.
After my diagnosis, I was looking for people my age going through what I was going through... I tried to find people who would understand me and all the changes that were happening not only in my life, but within my own body. That’s when I found The Breasties, and my lifelong friends.
They have changed my life for the better, and that’s what I hope to do for others through supporting them.
